Get to know your spices…

Your nosework for the next week:

  • SMELL every single spice.

  • If it doesn’t smell fresh and feisty, say goodbye.

  • When in doubt…toss it out!

  • Make your own spice blend and use it in EVERYTHING. Oatmeal, eggs, on raw & cooked veggies, in your chai, coffee, rice, meat, tofu, pasta, broths, and soups!

  • My go to blend: ground ginger, garlic, cardamom, and turmeric. And I’m also really into my sweet and warming blend: cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger. And a pinch of cayenne to both blends to HEAT THINGS UP.

  • Add more spices than you think you should add. Don’t hold back! Trust your eyes, nose, and taste buds.

  • I can’t say enough good things about Mountain Rose Herbs. I get most of my bulk spices from here. Great quality!

This is right about when I punch my computer in the dick. It took me 2 hours to upload this 6 minute video and then it is shit quality. It is what it is and I must practice my own preach: it is okay to be perfectly imperfect.
